Chocolate Covered Cherry Mice

My father loves chocolate covered cherries. Every year for Christmas among his many presents would be this small, red box. It never failed.

I thought of him when I ran across this recipe for Chocolate Covered Cherry Mice. It is simply a long-stemmed cherry dipped in melted chocolate with a Hershey's Kiss stuck to the end and placed on foil to cool, dry, and harded. Slivered almonds are used for the ears and a wee bit of cake decorating gel added to form the eyes and tip of the nose.
