Ladies Weekend at the Athenaeum

Lovely ladies Columbia's Athenaeum hosts a Ladies Weekend each spring, an abbreviated version of their 1861 Girl's School held each year in July. The Ladies Weekend is designed to give women over the age of eighteen a chance to fit a similar event into their working schedule. 

Activities include horseback sidesaddle riding, needlework, etiquette, art, period dance, period music, French, history, penmanship, parlor games and an 1861 fashion show.

Those who participate in the Ladies Weekend are invited to attend the Grand Ball held at the end of Girl's School.

Southern Belle, a film about the Athenaeum, was an entry in this year's Nashville Film Festival.
