One of the earliest pictures I have of my grandfather is of him as a young boy with his pet goat (circa 1912). My granddaddy loved animals and cared for many over his lifetime...including horses, ponies, chickens, goats, birds, dogs, cats, and an alligator named Billy. My dad tells a story that one day his mother couldn't find his father. She called and called for him and finally found him in the basement attempting to feed a cockroach ice cream from a spoon. Granddaddy loved furbabies!
Well, the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Wherever you find a Jones, you'll find a dog napping underfoot or riding along in the passenger's seat. We've cared for baby squirrels and birds, ducks, turtles, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, horses, you name it.
If you are having a hard time finding my brother Rob, it's quite possible he's out in the back pasture hugging Gracie or Remi, his cherished donkeys.
