Happy "Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor’s Porch Day" !!!
I've often called zucchini "Manna" because every morning I visit the garden and find a huge zucchini that wasn't there the day before. This time of year there may be 2-3 large ones. God is great!
Instead of sneaking it onto the porches of my neighbors, I've been taking all of my extra harvest to "Harvest Share Food Bank." And I encourage you to do the same. Most food donations are non-perishable groceries, with good reason. However, those in need of assistance need fresh fruits and vegetables, too. I even save my egg cartons to take them. Many farmers donate eggs, but not in cartons.
I found this wonderful blog with ideas on how to use toothpicks. Wouldn't you know one of the ideas was to make finger foods and two of those suggested used zucchini? Zucchini wraps and zucchini rolls.
King Arthur Flour shows us how to make Zucchini Sticks with Bloomin' Onion sauce. Yum!
I like to grate zucchini and add it to any baked bread or brownie recipe. It adds moisture like nothing else.
And don't forget Martha Stewart's Blog. She shows us 60 recipes using Zuccini. She's always been a showoff over-acheiver.
