Last weekend I enjoyed teaching a plein air painting class at Lairdland Farm House in northeastern Giles county just off I-65.
The morning was glorious, cool and overcast with a slight breeze through the valley.
We spent the first hour discussing Plein Air painting, the equipment used, planes of landscape and atmospheric perspective. Then the next two and half hours were spent painting the beautiful vignettes at Lairdland.
At 12:30 Bennita Rouleau served us a homemade lunch at the dining room table at Lairdland. After lunch, she and husband Don, led us on a tour of the home and Civil War museum.
